Product Description

Sit in the lap of luxury while riding your way to fitness with the Diamondback 500Sr step-through recumbent exercise bike. The 500Sr--which includes many of the most sought-after features on the market--is equipped with an efficient eddy current brake system that provides up to 16 levels of resistance. As a result, it's easy to find the perfect resistance level for your needs, whether you want to warm up before hitting the weights or challenge yourself with a serious cardio burn. The exclusive Comfort-Plus extra-wide seat, meanwhile, teams with the molded backrest to create whole new levels of stability and comfort. Add in the easygoing step-thru frame, which is ideal for people who are rehabbing from injury or who find traditional upright bikes uncomfortable, and you have a terrific workout accessory for the home.

The 500Sr offers plenty of workout flexibility, with an easy-to-read console that supports several different program types, including manual, fat-burning intervals, glute max hill climb, target heart rate, and custom trainer. The latter program is particularly valuable over the long term, as it lets you vary your workout depending on your mood. This not only keeps your attitude fresh, but it also makes your overall training regimen more efficient by challenging your body in different ways. It's also a breeze to track your workout progress thanks to the blue backlit LCD, which displays your time, pulse, calories, intensity level, RPM, speed, distance, and watts. And no workout is complete without a little motivational music, with is why the 500Sr comes with a set of built-in speakers and a plug-in jack for your MP3 player. Once you're plugged in, you can listen to your favorite playlists and tune out the rest of the world as you cycle through the imaginary hillsides.

Other features include contact pulse sensors in the handgrips for reading your heart rate, an accessory holder on the console for magazines or books, a built-in Smart Fan, and a weight capacity of 275 pounds. The 500Sr measures 67 by 31 by 12.5 inches (W x H x D), weighs 119 pounds, and carries the following warranties: limited lifetime on the frame and brake, three years on parts and electronics, and one year on labor.

The 500Sr's integrated console helps track your workout progress.

The bike's step-through frame offers easy entry and exit.

Surpassed my expectations

The Diamondback 500Sr is an investment in my own health that has exceeded my expectations. My resting pulse has gone down to 70, my cardio endurance has improved, and I have less early fatigue. Also, I am shedding pounds of fat. The bike is overall well made. The only things I wish were better was the console embedded fan and the seat bottom. The fan is meager and the seat could be a little more generously upholstered. I like the bike's console layout with the various readouts. It has 16 resistance levels that will challenge your fitness ambitions. With consistent use, I am meeting my own goals of weight loss and cardio improvement. Recumbents are easy on the low back, hips, and knees in case you wanted to know. :o)
Great Bike For The Money

Reviewer: G. Fortuna,
Before I bought this bike I did a lot of research on the Schwinn 230. I was getting ready to buy it and decided to go to Sears to check it out. My first impression of the Swchinn is that it looked cheap. I rode it for awhile and was not impressed. I decided to look elsewhere.

I decided to go with the Diamondback 500SR. With nowhere to test this bike I took my chances. At only $399 I figured it would also be pretty cheap looking and feeling, but it was worth a shot.

It arrived in a large box. I was worried when I opened it that I would find hundreds of pieces to put together. To my surprise there were only about ten pieces that I needed to put together.

It took me less than an hour to put together. I only got stumped a couple of times. The directions were asking for screws that we're not in the hardware kit. It turned out that they were already screwed in where they were supposed to go. I just needed to unscrew them, align the part and then screw it back in. It was very easy to put together.

The bike and display look better than the Schwinn's, in my opinion. It rides about the same.

I was looking for a recumbent bike because of some major lower back problems that I have. This bike is very comfortable. The adjustments on the seat back give me the support that I need.

The only issue I do have is the fan. Give me a break. If you're going to spend time on designing a bike with a fan on it make sure it displaces measureable air.

I have a gym at work with a couple expensive recumbent bikes. The Diamondback bike cannot compare to these. You do get what you pay for. However, for $399 I'm happy with my purchase.
The perfect bike

I bought the recumbent bike because my wife has serious back problems. She loves the bike and uses it almost everyday. The upright bike hurt her back so bad, the pain lasted many times all day and night. The recumbent helps her back and eases pain. The quality of the Diamondback is equal to many brands that sell for two to four times the price. The back and seat pads are as good and comfortable as those used in gyms and easy adjustments a fit for anyone. I highly recommend the Diamondback 500Sr.

Recumbent Exercise Bike

Following a total knee replacement, I went to Physical Therapy 3 times a week for 2 months. I began each session by riding the Diamondback Fitness Step-Thru Recumbent Exercise Bike . . . and really loved it! The bike was smooth, quiet, and had many options for maximizing your exercise. After I was dismissed from PT, I wanted to continue my exercises at home. I found the exact same bike on Amazon. Knowing how fast Amazon delivers, I ordered the bike and it arrived within 2-3 days. This bike is phenomenal! It has so many features, some I use regularly (speed, resistance, heart rate), others, I need to learn. There are special settings for additional options. There is a comprehensive operating manual that accompanys the bike.
